Benji Marshall was crowned the winner of Celebrity Apprentice Australia 2022 last night, defeating television presenter and best mate on the show, Darren McMullen.

The former rugby league footballer raised a whopping $487,105 in his final challenge – $100,000 of which was donated on top by Lord Sugar – for  charity South Cares. A huge accomplishment, no ifs or buts about it.

Speaking with Fitzy & Wippa this morning, Benji opened up about his experience on the show and confirmed that his gripping Stan series pitch on Celebrity Apprentice has been picked up.

For those unaware, the pitch was centred around Benji finding out about his culture and who he really is, as he’s never known his biological father.

Benji revealed that Warner Bros. is making the series, however, it may not be the exact six-part series he originally pitched:

“We don’t know if it’s exactly going to be that. That pitch was supposed to be not really real to be made, the story was real but I didn’t think we’d talk about actually making it off the back of it,” Benji told Fitzy & Wippa.

Benji Marshall also told the team that he has no intention of finding and confronting his biological father.

“I don’t really want to have a relationship with my dad. I’m one of those people who if there’s toxic people in my life I can just cut them off and that’s it.”

“But I do have this want to know like, what am I? Am I like, English? Am I, I don’t know. Like, what, what half nationality wise? Benji added.”
