Trains have been stopped across several Melbourne lines after a suspicious item was found at North Melbourne station.
Metro Trains have said Victoria Police were conducting safety checks and that the North Melbourne station has been evacuated as a precaution.
All trains through or approaching Nth Melbourne have been stopped due to a @VictoriaPolice request.

People told to evacuate the station by staff. Police arrived, then people were told to get hundreds of meters further back away from the station. Streets around the station have been blocked off from traffic by police cars.
