They were sensationally kicked off My Kitchen Rules following a vicious war of words with fellow contestants Jess and Emma – including going after their looks – but what happened to Sonya Mefaddi and Hadil Faiza?

Not together it would seem.

The (formerly) close friends deleted their joint Instagram account on/around April 23, telling followers “This account will be shut down shortly”, inviting those interested to follow them on their personal (and solo) pages.

If Instagram is anything to go by, Sonya has been holidaying it up in Bali and working on her solo cooking profile.

In fact, she launched a new online cooking series, with her first episode – showing step-by-step instructions for falafel prawns with lemon tahini – airing on Instagram and YouTube.

Her partner in crime, Hadil, seems to differ from Sonya in one crucial way: she’s not afraid to say she was on MKR.

Back in Cairns, Hadil – who even includes ‘mkr’ in her Instagram handle – is working as a makeup artist and beauty therapist; so no holidays just yet.

That being said she has posted some uh, alluring, images to Insta including a nudey-rudey in the wilderness.

“I love nature and being in the wilderness, we should embrace what mother nature has given to us, we shouldn’t take it for granted,” she wrote on the image.

“The best thing about the rainforest is no one’s around so who cares when you forget your swimmers.”

The pair previously apologised for their outbursts, but accused Channel Seven of “twisting, provoking and fuelling” the situation for ratings:

“There is more to the ‘scandal’ than meets the eye, however we take full responsibility for our words that came out of our mouths and we apologise.

“Like any reality TV show, no one but the people on-set filming 10-14 hour days know exactly what goes on behind the tears, the tension, the smiles, the reactions & the words exchanged.

“We will not apologise to the network who twisted, provoked and fuelled this entire situation. We do however wish to apologise to the viewers for having to witness and endure the situation which should have never been allowed to go to air. We wish the remaining teams in the competition the best of luck. Sonya & Hadil x”
