Ah, Jurassic Park. Whether you’re a movie buff, Jeff Goldblum stan or just really enjoy those early-days animatronics, it’s a classic watch. Especially as we get to see Samuel L. Jackson sans Kangol hat.
And after a recent watch of the 1993 classic we got to thinking, what happened to the kids? Tim and Lex Murphy?
Well, we’ve tracked ‘em down since their ‘90s heyday and here’s what the kids from Jurassic Park are up to now.
Joseph Mazzello – Tim Murphy
After Jurassic Park, Joseph Mazzello played Tim again briefly in The Lost World: Jurassic Park before going kinda quiet for a few years – we assume to finish his education, he attended the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2001 following a recommendation letter from director Steven Spielberg.
Joseph or Joe, as he appears to prefer, has had impressive supporting roles in The Social Network and the Spielberg-produced TV show The Pacific. He’s also played Queen bassist John Deacon in the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

Ariana Richards – Lex Murphy
Ariana as Lex was well known for nailing that bug-eyed, ‘Oh s**t a dinosaur!’ look but is she putting this to use these days?
Not so much. Aside from a brief reprise in The Lost World and some TV eps (The Golden Girls, Boy Meets World) Ariana has largely moved away from acting.
After graduating from Skidmore College in 2001, with a degree in Fine Art and Drama, Ariana is now making a living as a successful painter living in Salem, Oregon. Seriously, you can check it out here, she’s pretty damn good.
