Time to whip out the Scooby snacks.
Warner Bros are gearing up to release the first theatrical Scooby-Doo movie since 2004’s Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, and IT’S GONNA BE ANIMATED.
That’s right folks, no live action remake this time ‘round, and while we’re pretty stoked about seeing our fave ghost-busting teens in cartoon form a la our childhoods, others are not.
‘Others’ being the OG Shaggy, because he didn’t get cast.
Zoinks! No Matthew Lillard?!
Lillard has been playing Shaggy for the last two live-action films, and since the first film’s debut in 2002 Lillard has been the voice of Shaggy in every subsequent movie and cartoon.
The new cast of voice actors includes Jane The Virgin’s Gina Rodriguez as Velma, Tracy Morgan as Captain Caveman, Frank Welker returning as Scooby-Doo, and SNL star Will Forte joining the cast as the new Shaggy.
While we’re pretty stoked on the new lineup, we feel for ol’ mate Lillard, who wasn’t even told that he wasn’t being cast.
Like a professional version of learning your ex has moved on via Facebook, Lillard told Twitter he first came across the news, well, in the news.
Well this sucks.

What a crappy way to find out…. thanks Hollywood. You never sense to amaze me. https://t.co/QDdlMAqlrZ
Fans were their awesome selves and jumped on board to support Lillard as the one and only Shaggy.
If you’re not shaggy, I’m not watching.
