Melbourne is the unofficial foodie capital of Australia. No need to get offended, it just is what it is.
But it seems like Melbourne might be losing its touch in the food game because Sydney has just won the most ‘instagrammable’ cafe in the world title.
Speedos Cafe at Bondi Beach topped a list created by Big Seven Travel magazine which ranked the top 50 insta worthy cafes around the world, including places in Milan, LA and Bali.
“Bondi is one of the most iconic beaches in the world, so to have such an incredible place as Speedos just a short still away from the water is a real treat,” Big Seven Travel wrote about the Bondi-based cafe.
“Speedos serves some of the most beautiful food you’ll ever see – all hues of the rainbow feature on the menu. An absolute explosion of colours and a scenic waterfront location make this the most Instagrammable cafe in the world, hands down.”
One look at Speedos’ Instagram page and it’s easy to see why they won the top spot – it’s all so pretty.

The cafe is aware of their food aesthetic and boast about being insta-worthy on their website, saying that they offer “top-notch #Instagrammable food with a view to match”.
As well as bright colours and perfect flat lays, the food looks delicious too.
