You’ve read the headline, but please allow us to repeat: Steven Spielberg’s 23-year-old daughter is launching a porn career.
Mikaela Spielberg, who was adopted as a baby by the director and his actress wife Kate Capshaw, detailed her new profession on Wednesday, revealing she broke the news of her career choice to her parents via a FaceTime video call over the weekend.
Describing herself as a “sexual creature”, she told The U.S. Sun her mum and dad were “intrigued” but “not upset” by the news, and explained, “I got really tired of not being able to capitalise on my body and frankly, I got really tired of being told to hate my body. And I also just got tired of working day to day in a way that wasn’t satisfying my soul.”
Now Mikaela plans to show off her curves in her own solo adult videos: “I feel like doing this kind of work, I’m able to ‘satisfy’ other people, but that feels good because it’s not in a way that makes me feel violated,” she shared.
The actress, who is based in Nashville, Tennessee, hopes to obtain her sex worker licence so she can also work as a stripper, and she insists she is proud of her new life direction, which she is pursuing so she no longer has to rely on her parents for financial support.
“This isn’t like an ‘end of the road’ or ‘I’ve hit bottom (sic)’ choice,” she said. “This is a positive, empowering choice. I realised there is no shame in having a fascination with this industry and wanting to do something that is safe, sane, consensual.”
Mikaela also tells the outlet she won’t be having sex on camera out of respect for her 47-year-old fiance, Chuck Pankow.
Spielberg and Capshaw have yet to publicly comment on their daughter’s career choice.
