It has honestly felt like Perth has been covered by one LOOOONG continuous grey cloud this month and it’s only getting worse this week!

The Weather Bureau have advised a strong cold front is expected to hit the Perth metro area this afternoon.

Heavy rainfall and damaging winds are set to develop from 2pm onwards with the worst of it expected by 5pm (peak hour, YAY!)

If you need any excuse to leave work early today, this is it!

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services are reminding people to get storm ready ahead of the bad weather this afternoon:

  • Be alert and watch for hazards on the road such as fallen power lines and loose debris.
  • Keep away from flooded drains, rivers, streams, and waterways.
  • Store or weigh down loose objects around your home like outdoor furniture that could be picked up and thrown by strong winds, causing damage or injury.
  • If your home or property has significant damage, like a badly damaged roof or flooding, call the SES on 132 500.

Stay safe!
