There isn’t a soul alive who doesn’t like a bargain and/or something totally for free.
Unfortunately, on the odd occasion, naughty folks take advantage of this.
Kmart shoppers are today being warned of a Facebook scam targeting people with sponsored aka paid posts.
The fake page ‘Kmart_Australia’ looks pretty legit – they even use the correct Kmart logo – thanks to this method of targeting.
Social media users should be aware, is they see any ads under this name (or any that are not from the official Kmart social accounts).

Practical Parenting report that by clicking the link, users are asked to provide a number of private details. It is not yet known where these details go.
A Kmart spokesperson told the publication that this is indeed a scam:
“We can confirm this is not a Kmart promotion,” Practical Parenting report the spokesperson as saying.
“This information shared has been taken extremely seriously and we are committed to ensure the appropriate steps are taken to report this. We encourage anyone that has been affected by fraudulent activity to report them to Scamwatch at www.scamwatch.gov.au or report to Facebook. Alternatively customers can get in contact with our customer service team who will also raise this with Scamwatch.”
