Chocolate is one of the greatest gifts on this fine earth. Sadly for any vegans among us, chocolate is no good. No bueno. Not vegan friendly.

Luckily for said vegans, dairy-free chocolate exists. And it’s actually pretty good. Oreos are also vegan – fun fact – so it’s easy to still get your choccie fix.

But there is one beautiful chocolatey product that is not vegan friendly: Milo. Going and going and going with Milo was not a possibility for our vegan friends.

Until now, ‘cause plant-based Milo is now a thing.

Grab a cup of almond milk or a bowl of soy ice cream and heap on the tablespoons.

The new Milo Plant Based Energy has been carefully crafted to contain no animal ingredients but to still maintain a high quality of calcium and added zinc, nutrients that can be absent in some plant-based diets.

“As we know people are looking for more plant based products, it was time to look at how MILO could evolve to offer more options that don’t compromise on taste,” Nestlé Dairy Business Manager Anna Stewart said.

“MILO Plant Based is created using the same core ingredients as original MILO – malt, barley and cocoa, but we’ve taken out the milk powder, reduced the added sugar, and added plant based ingredients from soy and oats.”

MILO Plant Based (RRP $6.99, 395g) is on shelf in Coles nationwide from 16 March and independent supermarkets from April.
