It looks as though Channel Ten couldn’t wait any longer and has officially announced former rugby union player Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins as this year’s Bachelor. No doubt a lot of women (and men) will be excited to watch the season.
We also wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of people breathed a sigh of relief that Cam Cranley isn’t the Bachelor – purely because that means he’s still available for us regular gals!
The unconventional choice for Channel Ten follows in the success of choosing Sophie Monk as their Bachelorette last year.
Rumours began swirling over the weekend that Nick would be handing out roses this year but the man himself remained tight-lipped.
But speaking to Fitzy & Wippa earlier this week, the Honey Badger’s roommate James confirmed the rumours.
Asked by Wippa if it was a big decision for him, James said:
“Oh, massive, yeah. He’s a very private dude. Like for him to put himself out there on national TV with that kind of stuff is a big deal for him.”
When asked if his pal’s starting filming the series yet, James was more tightlipped, saying, “I don’t know what I can say and what I can’t!”
We look forward to seeing Nick and his abs on national TV later this year!
