An interview on Channel Nine’s Today Show took an uncomfortable turn on Friday morning when a guest brought up that whole Ubergate drama while chatting with Karl Stefanovic.

The comment came up during a discussion about Uberpool (Uber’s new rideshare service). Stefanovic shared that he wasn’t convinced by the service, suggesting that people will “end up killing each other”, news.com.au has reported.

“They will — just imagine you after a quiet lunch,” guest Neil Mitchell replied.

“And in an Uber with six other people, chatting happily — you couldn’t make phone calls … You couldn’t ring your brother and have a chat,” he said.

“Exactly. Nothing. Can’t be trusted,” Stefanovic offered in response.

Stefanovic then shifted the conversation to focus on colleagues rather than his own experience:

“There’s no way I want to go in a little car with six other people that you work with … Imagine that. I’d go with Dickie, that’s it.”

The controversial conversation that went down between Karl and Peter Stefanovic (which was allegedly about their jobs and colleagues) made headlines back in March after an Uber driver took the story to New Idea.
