Well it’s official. Nerves are kicking in with less than a week until the City to Surf and I’m pretty proud to say I’ve been right on track, doing the gym session, the hill climbs, eating right… but then came a few sleepless nights. My 8 month old got his third and most difficult tooth so far, and all of a sudden I’d had a week without sleep.
When I’m tired, the gym sessions feel much harder and I struggle with my food choices. Enter the eton mess. The sugar rush was amazing but the comedown was severe and the only thing heavier than my tummy was my the guilt I felt for caving in so easily.
From here I had two choices. Stay down and let the sugar addiction really kick in… or redeem myself.
A quick glance at my well-worn sneakers reminded me of all the work I’ve been doing and I took off to the supermarket in search of more satisfying foods. It’s obvious I needed to grab plenty of fresh fruit and vegies but I was looking for something more. That’s when I saw Macro Quinoa Rigatoni Pasta.

Full of protein and fibre, it was a no brainer, and now that I feel so virtuous in my food choice!
I guess I can face a return to the gym! Stay tuned for a (hopefully) smooth ride for the final week before the big day.
