Ellie Goulding has wed her partner of almost three years, art dealer Caspar Jopling, in an A-list filled ceremony in York on Saturday.
By all reports the wedding was a properly British affair, complete with royalty in attendance in the form of Princess Eugenie, who introduced the couple back in 2017, and her mother Fergie.
But as pictures of the lavish ceremony emerge, the internet has decided it doesn’t approve of Goulding’s ~extremely~ custom designer gown, with commenters calling it “absolutely disgusting” and a “nanna nightdress”.

The white silk gown was hand made by the famous fashion house Chloé, and designed by Natacha Ramsay-Levi. Apparently it took more than 640 hours to construct, and the veil another 591 hours.
“Is that her grandma’s dress?” wrote one person on Instagram, while another added, “She is beautiful BUT the dress Nooooo!”

Me after seeing pictures of Ellie Goulding's wedding dress, "The Brits have terrible taste in bridal fashion, except for the Middleton sisters apparently". pic.twitter.com/rAixKBwMDG

Others jumped to the dress’ defence, calling it “very classic” and “elegant and timeless”.
“She looks regal, like a princess!” observed one user.
The couple announced their engagement in August last year, with Caspar writing on social media: “I get to spend the rest of my life with this truly extraordinary and beautiful, beautiful person.
