First up, let me start by saying I’m well aware of the power of the jinx and I’ve thrown salt over my left shoulder, kneecap and boob just to mitigate this phenomenon.
‘Kay?
But jinx-threat aside, every time Vanderpump Rules or Real Housewives of Beverly Hills enters the news cycle I find myself asking the same thing:
How TF is Giggy, Lisa Vanderpumps’ beloved OG doggo, still alive?
Giggy, Lisa’s seemingly immortal Pomeranian is, at time of writing, still alive and kicking despite a heart condition – must be those strong 9-10 years of pampered life.
But the relatively good health isn’t without hiccups, as seen across February and August of 2018.
“Giggy actually had a real hiccup last February — and February through about August, where he was being monitored very closely,” Lisa told Bravo at the time.
“He spent a lot of time in hospital, which was very difficult for us because he hated being left behind. But he was kind of in an incubator. He was on a heart monitor. We actually have a pacemaker waiting for him — a tiny, tiny little pacemaker, if he does need it,” she said.
Since this initial dip in health, Giggy has been pictured alive and happy (in the same way that perhaps Jenna Marbles’ Chihuahua Marbles is ‘alive’) a good few times across Instagram.
There are also rumours flying around the ‘net that Giggy is a) stuffed b) simply a vessel for the spirit of Karl Lagerfield these days and c) soul bonded to Lisa’s husband Ken and therefore cannot die (unless he does).
We cannot tell a lie, all three of these scenarios make sense for the Gigster.
So, we hope it never comes to this but, for those wondering if Giggy is still alive in 2020, the answer is yes.
Kinda.
UPDATE 14 DECEMBER 2020:
Lisa Vanderpump has announced Giggy has sadly passed away. In an Instagram post she wrote:
“We are devastated to say that our beloved Giggy has passed away this morning. He was truly loved, and we know how many of you loved him too. Our sweet Gigolo was such an incredible, unique dog, but mainly, because of him, we started The Vanderpump Dog Foundation and embarked on our mission to save as many dogs as possible.”
