A man has died after being hit by a train in Melbourne on Thursday morning. The incident occurred between Preston and Regent railways according to Victoria Police, but it is still unknown exactly how it happened.
Police have shut down the South Morang line and buses are replacing trains between Epping and Bell.

Metro trains is warning commuters to expect 60 minute delays and to consider taking other methods of transport.
Frustrated commuters are reporting delays and overcrowding on the buses that have replaced the trains.
The man has not been identified.
