Anthony Bourdain’s estranged wife, Ottavia Busia, has taken to social media to share a heart-wrenching photo of the couple’s daughter, Ariane, just days after the TV personality’s shock passing.
Busia captioned a photo of Ariane performing on stage at DROM in New York City:
“Our little girl had her concert today. She was amazing. So strong and brave. She wore the boots you bought her. I hope you are having a good trip, wherever you are.”
The couple was married in April 2007 and amicably split in September 2016, but the New York Times reports they never officially divorced.
Bourdain was previously married to high school sweetheart, Nancy Putkoski, from 1985 to 2005. At the time of his death, he had been dating Asia Argento.
The much-loved celebrity chef wrote about fatherhood in his cookbook Appetites:
“Fatherhood has been an enormous relief, as I am now genetically, instinctually compelled to care more about someone other than myself. I like being a father. No, I love being a father. Everything about it.”
Bourdain was found in his hotel room in France on Friday with French authorities confirming to Associated Press he had taken his own life.
The star’s mother, Gladys Bourdain, told Page Six Busia will be handling the funeral plans as she is legally his next of kin.
“Although they’re separated, she’ll be in charge of whatever happens… We haven’t talked for a couple days. I’m sure she’s as broken up as I am.”
